Pardon the photo dump, but I wanted to share some pictures from my trip to NYC with Shayna. We grew up together in San Diego and she moved to Berkeley a few months before I moved to Boston, so having her visit was not only exciting because I missed her, but it was like a piece of home with me for a week. When she bought her Boston ticket, we were like "Why don't we just go to New York!?" so we did just that! We took a bus from Boston that left at 1am and arrived at 4:30am, so fast!
We got a lot done and saw so many things! She had been once before, so she was more familiarized with the sections of the city, so that was helpful because, as if you already didn't know this, the city HUGE!
Shayna had a pedometer on her so we tracked our steps and saw that we walked about 30,000 steps each day we were there, that's about 15miles, and that's about nuts...
My favorite part of the trip was one morning when Shayna and I split up because she wanted to spend hours in the MET (which I'm not opposed to, but I'm in NEW YORK!!) and I went into Brooklyn. I walked around a part of the neighborhood, grabbed myself some breakfast tacos, fresh juice, and set up camp at a park that overlooks Manhattan. I then popped some good tunes in and walked the Brooklyn Bridge, I ended up in China Town which was fun because I LOVE food markets and there were so many. Then China Town spilled into Little Italy, which was nice, but I've seen better *ahem, Little Italy in San Diego*
Overall such a fun trip with one of my bestest friends, I hope to visit again soon and see even more of this amazing city. But more than NY, I hope to see Shayna again even sooner!
