Here are some snaps from weeks ago, before I started feeling all poopy. They are nice to look at and a reminder that not too long ago everything was okay and soon everything will be okay again.
Just a bag full of florist essentials. All the good stuff.
Jon Paul and I have friends we met through church (really cute and sweet couple) who were visiting NYC from California. We met up with them for the day.
We had some delicious pizza at Roberta's in Brooklyn (ps. I just started watching Girls - mixed opinions about it - anyway, they filmed a scene here and I felt so proud!)
A selfie in a very trendy hotel! Backstory: Jon Paul had booked this place with his Marriott rewards card a few days before. He gets one free night a year, and we wanted to use it for this trip. They were all "Okay, you're all set and the room is booked." We get to the hotel and they said, "you don't have enough points to book this, if you want to stay here you still have to pay $400 something" and we said "bye." It was a very cool and swanky place and I'm pretty sure I saw Kim K in the lobby and I'm happy I got to pee in their bathroom, but we were pretty upset that the card people told us "your FREE night is booked, go ahead and drive 4 hrs to NY and you'll have somewhere to sleep," and that was not the case. Anyway, we stayed in New Jersey that night.
Okay, in this picture, it's almost midnight and I'm giving Pierre a butt bath because he went outside to do his business and had loose doodies that he somehow smeared all over his bum. Pierre has very long butt hairs and they were just covered in poo, so I had to wash his butt. We kept joking that Pierre shit his pants. It was hilarious. Or maybe you had to be there?
Another amazing thrift store find!! I saw this jacked behind the counter and asked if it was sold and they said it wasn't, it just hadn't been priced yet. So I said I'll take it! And sometimes when they price things on the spot, they don't have enough time to think about the value, so they low-ball it. This baby was $14!!!!
Gave Pierre a full body bath. He's tired from fighting me and being terrified. So he sat like this and watched Project Runway with me for a couple of hours.
A family walk by Mystic River, which is about a 12 min walk from our house. Pierre saw geese and walked into the water to try and get a closer look at them. This is fascinating to us given that he hates water (bath, beach, even puddles), but he braved it to get closer to the geese! We kept telling him what a good boy he is and how proud we are of him.
This is one afternoon after I had given the house a nice clean and I had nothing to do, so I was just watching Sex & The City reruns and drinking a tall glass of iced tea. THE BEST!
When Jon Paul comes home, he greets me for a second and then him and Pierre begin to fawn all over each other for an unnecessary amount of time. Look at that little sly look Pierre is giving me there. What a jerk. I'm kidding, it's very sweet to watch, even though I won't ever be a part of their little circle.
Lovely shadows and light. A small moment I stole for myself between work shenanigans.
The first time since Winter began that I let my legs and feet out. They were cold, but the extra vitamin D was nice!
